Stop the use of expulsions as a political weapon

Stop the Labour Purge notes the reports in the press that left
activists Jackie Walker, Mark Wadsworth and Paul Davies may be
expelled from the Labour Party.

Except in very extreme cases, political disagreements should be dealt
with through debate and discussion, not administrative measures.
Expulsions are not the way to improve the party’s politics or culture.
Moreover there is very clearly a general issue of their use as a
factional weapon of the Labour right against the left.

Stop the Purge urges Labour members to oppose the threat to expel
these activists and to fight for a party in which disagreements, even
severe ones, are dealt with through political debate and disciplinary
measures are not used as a factional tool.
